I'm thinking about doing some Xterra races, but I've run into a little problem with my wheels/tires.
I recently purchased a "Niner" Jet 9 mountain bike on line that I had built up with tubeless tires.
The rims on the bike are Stans no tubes ZTR Crest. The tires are Schwalbe Racing Ralph "Performance" tires.
I recently put about 40 PSI in the tires. I planned on riding on the street to my local trails (that's why I put in 40 PSI) and planned on letting some air out before hitting the trails.
About 10 minutes after I put air in,the tire blew off the rim and there was sealant everywhere.
I wrote to Schwalbe explaining the problem and they said you should never put more that 35 PSI in a tubeless tire.
They also said that the Racing Ralph "Performance" tire is NOT tubeless ready, but he has heard of some people riding these tires tubeless.
Do you think this was just a freak thing? Would I be safe riding these tires as tubeless?
Anyone out there riding Schwalbe Racing Ralph "Performance" tires as tubeless?
Please help.
Thanks!
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
