anyone have track times for a saturn ion 3 quad coupe with a variable tranny?
gf has one and curious what it would run....cvt tranny holds the peak hp of the engine well, but I can't see that it would have the most efficient power throughput..
I am gonna geuss and say mid 13's.......no really I don't know but I estimate low to mid 17's.Do it get good gas mileage??I think those continuously variable trannies are neat as hell. <br>

i dont know about the VTi but i ran my 5spd 15.69 at 88.9MPH, that prolly doesnt help...
In the March issue of car and driver they did a long term test on the ION, and said it did 17's but once the engine got broken in it did better times. Check it out i think it was the March issue.
Your right it is the March issue of Car and Driver. They list the car as originally doing 17.7 in the 1/4 mile and the time improved to a 17.0 once the ecotec was broken in. I think the 5 speed ION would achieve mid 16's seeing as the 5 speed auto is power robbing beyond belief.
