Has anyone changed a water pump yet? Is it a PITA like the 2.4? Just wondering cause I was thinking about the new Cobalt with the 2.2 eco.
It looks like it wouldn't be to hard being on the back side of the motor.

Thanks for the reply. So I'm assuming the ecotec is a completely different motor than the old quad four 2.4 and has been changed for easier serviceability.
Yea and no but since the switched the intake and exhust it makes a little more room.

the waterpump is internal.

The housing is part of the block on the back side of the motor. Almost all by its lonesome.

Pages 4-5 (of the eco hand book)show you an excelent view of the water pump. Should be fairly easy acess from behide and through the wheel well.

Ive done them,much easier than the quad engine.you need a speacial tool that goes thru the cover and holds the chain driven waterpump gear,once thats held just unbolt it and remove.
