Hi. I have a 2003 chevy cavalier. When i first start it it makes a ticking similar to a lifter tick but it goes away after a few minutes almost completely. The motor has 216k miles on it and i want to make it last as long as possible. I think oil is not getting up to the top end like it should be when i first start it. Is this oiled thropugh pushrods and maybe one is clogged? Can i just take the valve covers off and use a guitar string to clear the pushrod oil tubes? Im not sure exactly how these motors work but I understand motors in general and how they work. As for this motor I want to know before i go tearing it apart if this is a solution. Thanks.
Can you post a video of the ticking noise? Does it sound like this?....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCnziJNEE6I
