Hey guys, Its almost time for a coolant change and have been looking around for alternatives. With all the bad press dexcool has, and having a few jugs of ford premium gold coolant laying around, it seems practical. I know of a few guys that has converted to Zerex which similar to ford gold. Has anyone done this? Any tips or thoughts would be helpful, thanks
Dependent on where you are located and what season you drive your car in I run 30% dexcool and 65% Distilled Water and 5% royal purple coolant additive. Im in Nebraska where the winters get cold and dont have any issues with it freezing. This is also the same mixture I put in my heat exchanger system for my supercharger.
as long as you change dexcool at the recommend interval you'll be fine. Leave it in to long and it will become acidic and ruin your gaskets.
