The cam chain in my wifes 2002 Saturn L100 broke and damaged all of the pistons as well as most of the valves, I am now hunting for a new engine. The exact engine is kind of hard to find but if I could broaden my options it would make things alot easier, I know the 2.2 is used in Pontiac's Sunfire and Grand Am, and many other GM products. Does anybody know what the differences is? I would think the blocks would be pretty similar but not to sure about the heads, mine has what looks like a place for an EGR that is blocked off on the drivers side as well as the power steering pump driven from the intake cam. I intend to use my exhaust and intake, just wondering about the engine itself.

only differences i noticed is the oil filter location, in my 03 l200 it is under the hood in front of the valve cover, and also in a sunfire/cav the headers are in the front and in my car the exhaust manifold is in the backend but im not completely sure ive been just browsing online
