Hello i have a 2006 cobalt, i was woundering if there was anything that i should be aware of before replacing the rear drum brakes. im good with cars but the first time with this one. any info would be nice thanks
Do one side at a time. Use the other side as a reference. Brush away any excess brake dust. If you have anti seize, smear some on the backing plate where the shoes or other moving parts will rub, but make sure that there is no way that any will get on the shoe material that actually stops the car. Take your time and you will be fine. It might help to have a buddy on call that has done rears before, so you could call him in an emergency.
Once you are done, you need to adjust them properly.
