On the 2003 Saturn ion the part that connects the (outside) wiper to the arm that is connected the the wiper motor is plastice. The plastic part will eventually wear out and break. I know. I had to replace it last year and this year the same problem
Why did GM do that? Has anyone else encountered this problem?
did you try to take those off?
what do you mean? The wiper arm link is connected to the plastic part.
Yeah, I had min break too. You can't have the slightest bit of heavy snow or ice on the windshield or they will break. Of course mine just broke for no reason at all while I was on the highway. The attach point to the arm is crimped into an aluminum housing, not a very good design at all.
