I'm not sure if this is the right place to have this question, but i got dc sports 4-1 ceremic headers and iwas wondering if i should keep the heat shield on. I know it is there for a purpose, but i think i read on another website that the aftermarket headers are made of better material so does that mean there is no need for the heat shield?

if you really want to do something to bring down underhood temps, use header wrap like on old V-8's have been doping for years. there is a "minimal" gain here. get it from jegs or someplace like that. it works.

Header wraps also help build condensation in between the wrap causing it to wear faster.
It's not needed in his case at all.
