Is the cobalt going to get rid of the J-body platform name, and if so witch I think they are, and what will it be called?

it is going to be the delta platform that is used on the ion's currently so we dont get independent rear suspension

I thought we were getting independent rear suspension. That is my biggest problem witht the J, even more so that the rear drum breaks. I won't buy a cobolt if it doesn't have IRS.

wtf, i thought the new design actually would of had something different. i even had to check the site and found this:

<img src="http://www.saturn.com/saturn/images/featurespricing/rearsusp_ionq_detail.jpg">

[quote="Saturn.com"]
Semi-independent torsion-beam rear suspension with stabilizer bar

Basically, this is a bunch of stuff to help provide a smoother ride, which you'll appreciate if you're one of those rare folks who picks up a coffee on the way to work.

well i guess that will be one of the points the review media rips on, same as they do about our current cars.

Although I still have an s-series saturn with the independent suspension, I have driven an ION multiple times and I can tell you I much prefer the torsion beam rear suspension for its ride quality. Atthough on paper it seems GM took a step back with this setup, it handles and rides very well with the delta platform. Don't bash the delta platform till you drive one. It will surprise you.
