Has anyone ever replaced the 2.2 ecotec rods an pistons with the supercharged version rods an pistons? An im planning on supercharging my 2.2 I have an 08 soni know the rods an pistons are the weekest but im wandering if its ok to take rod an pistons sets out of a 2.2 of earlier model 05 to 07 if those rods an pistons would hold up to tje 12 to 16 psi range im looking for.
A M62 supercharger(most common one used on Ecotecs) will not produce enough power to break the engine as long as it is properly tuned. PSI doesn't brake engines, bad tunes do. A bad tune can cause a N/A engine with forged internals to break.
