i want to mod '04 2.2 ecotech cavalier

I want to make performance modifications to my cavalier but i have no idea where to start.

I want to make it

1- faster
2- handle better
3- look better especially in the inside

any inputs will greatly help because i have never done such a thing. Also, I'm not completely clueless...i have worked on cars before but it has all been wear and tear parts like brakes, radiator, o2 sensor, etc...
