Best horsepower mod

can anyone suggest what they believe would be the best horsepower adding mod to a 2004 cavalier 5 speed with the ecotec? i already have a cat back exhaust and an aem cold air intake and i just ordered a jet chip. i don't have anything else other than that.

Get rid of the chip. No offence. It does nothing for performance. Best horsepower mod hands down is a good turbo kit. Look into hahn racing.

the jet chip will not work for your car, get your money back.

that sucks. why won't the chip work? i have already ordered it from andysautosport.com. will i be able to ship it back?

You can't "chip" our cars. The one you ordered you prob have to wire it into your IAT circuit. End results....nothing.

That really sucks. Do you think they'll take it back? I got it from www. andysautosport.com. I just blew 190 dollars for nothing. I've heard a little bit about a website called www.hptuners.com. what is the deal with them? Are they any good? What do they do?

I was just on andy'sautosport and can't seem to find this so called chip. Hptuners is a program for your computer at home or laptop. What it can do for you is read your car's computer and allow for adjusting of certain things. If you have no idea about them i suggest you read as much as you can on thier website. Also on j-body.org there are library's full of information on hptuners.

This should be the right address. i meant to call it a controller. i'm just so used to hearing everyone say chip.
Also i plan on supercharging my car. Does anyone know of a website that makes the whole supercharger kit for my car?

depends on your pocket book and what u want out of the car. Your option are endless, it all depends on your preferance. Supercharger, Turbo, and nitrous are all of the big power adders or u can build the motor internally and go with high compression NA horsepower.

Trifecta is looking to see if there is enough of us that wants a canned tune.
They ship a small programmer that hooks into the port under the steering wheel, and all you do is turn on the programmer and hit download and then wait a few minutes as it reflashes your computer.

They have tunes for stock and different ones that depend on your level of mods.

Understand that they are getting driving logs from many different owners to establish parameters for canned tuning.

The tune only costs $299, and they have it available for the Chevy Cobalt and HHR manual and automatic.

I am told if there is enough people asking about a canned tune for the 02-05 Ecotec, they will start the project.

On the CobaltSS website, there are many happy Trifecta tuned Ecotecs. They are not just happy, they are ecstatic.

They are getting insane jumps in MPG and the HP is about a 8-12hp gain on the 2.2 to max output and everything in between is enhanced. The 8-12hp span is whether you tune a stock or one with max bolt-ons. The max bolt-on cars are getting 12hp gains.

I am hoping enough people will call Trifecta.

I am also told they have a tune for people with the 2.4 SS intake manifold mod for the Cobalt 2.2 which means they can do the same for the 02-05. They will also have programs for cammed engines. They even consider the elevation of where you live!

Oh yeah, they can remove the speed limiter too.

SOLD!!!

Seriously $299 is about reasonable for a tune. The more tuners available, the more competition and the better prices get for us!!

What I like is that you do not have to go to the speed shop, dyno or have to figure out how to use a program like HP Tuners.
You just plug in, hit a button, wait a few minutes and then disconnect.

HP Tuners does not offer tuning for the Cobalt, or at least not for the 07 and 08 model.
HP Tuners is available for the 02-05, but the program is more than $299, and like I said, people like me wouldn't know what the heck all the parameters mean or do, and the end result would be an engine that would get damaged.
If I took my car in, then I have to pay for the speed shop's time and dyno time.

I would actually call them, they are really good with customer service and a phone call gets them jazzed up more than a static e-mail.
