There isn't really a certain watt but more of a pre-caution.
It's more of a disclaimer incase you are losing more power than you should be to also keep your battery charged for your stereo system.
You can always use it but it's at your own descresion (sp?)
On the audio side of it, to help preventing too much power loss from the battery being drawn, invest in a good Capacitor. Typically they go for every 500 watts, it's .5 farad.
.5 Farad = 500 Watts
1.0 Farad = 1000 Watts
and so on and so forth.
