im pretty new to tuning but ever since i got my 06 cobalt 2.2 coupe, ive wanted to do stuff with it tuning-wise. i dont know which brands are best or anything so i would just like to know what all exactly i should get for it.
i know i need:
exhaust system
headers
fuel injectors
turbo (from what ive been reading around here, theres no way to do a supercharger yet)
truthfully, i dont know much beyond that. what should i start out with and what brand of it should i get so that i wont be regretting it in a couple months? while money is an object here, i prefer to save and buy the best or near the best as opposed to blowing what little cash i have on crap that im gonna want to replace soon. lemme know guys. recommend other parts, brands, whatever. thanks for the help.
I'm going to be completely honest...
It sounds like you don't know which direction you want to honestly go with. It's good you're asking questions though.
The problem isn't that you can't use a supercharger, the problem is fuel management with the 2.2 Cobalts. So far, there has been a piggyback that some are claiming to work alright on a turbocharged application. It was just released with a kit by Alpine Developments.
What should you start out with? Researching. Don't buy not a single part. Figure out what you want ultimately. I highly suggest reading these 2 things as a starting point:

If you are interesting in a Turbo setup, you can contact me and ask me any questions as far as turbo setups. I also made an ECOTEC FAQ if you're interested in reading it:

There are also some good books I can recommend you buying and reading that are very detailed and will give you a better idea of what you're getting yourself into.
This is all before buying one single part. It's all about planning. Jumping in without any direction will just lead you all over the place. If you need any help, feel free to contact me privately (check profile) or reply to this post.
Good luck.
