How practical is the 2.4eco swap into an 04cavi? How mutch wok would it be? It seemingly is a better base for mods because of the bettert base performance but what do you guys think? Would the computer even except it?

when it come out i think it will be a nice swap. but then again just swaping the topend onto a 22eco would be nice also. you would just have to figure out how to control cam change. first thing comes to mind is a vtec controller but will the stock computer like it?

see ya!

It's probably more work than it's worth. It has an all new computer system with all digital sensors, drive by wire, etc. The 04 Ecotec has 140 horses and 150 lb torque. The new 2.4 eco is 170 horses and estimated 170 lb torque.

Boring out the 2.2 , porting the heads, and a cam swap should easily get you there for less money and less time involved.

if i was to guess: you'll need a new computer, wiring harness, someone to wire it (doubling the build cost), and you'll have to weld a new subframe. plus, I thought the 2.4 eco will be an auto trans only.
