Yes it is true. GM is coming out with a stage 1 and stage 2 performance package for the supercharged 2.0L ecotecs.
Stage 1 (17801947) includes high flow fuel injectors reflash for the PCM. Kit adds 31 peak HP & 5lb torque.
Stage 2 (17803229) includes high flow injectors, lightened SC pulley, drive belt, and reflash. Increased to 36 peak HP & 18lb torque. 0.7 second improvement on the 1/4 mile, and 0.5 improvement on 0-60 times.
Since it's taken GM 3+ years to come out with the 2.2 SC kit... who knows how long it'll take for these.
That is nice man! is that how much horse power you gain on each stage or is it which one you want.
10.5 second 1/8mile
est hp=130
est tq=135
They are for each stage. The times improvements are just for stage 2.
It'll be a while until those are made available, i'm pretty sure. Just like the supposed 2.2 S/C Kit....
Yea, again I've gotten on GM about the availability date of the SC and asked about those other part numbers. They only responded to the SC question, which was still not available, "contact you dealership for more accurate and timely information". They didn't even answer my question on the LSJ kits.
So I replied with a long email about the professionalism of GM, and how it ties in to the lose of it's customer base and profits. I also asked if they were going to do like what they did with the old 2.4 supercharger. Which was have the engine out for 4-6 years, and then come out with the SC a year before they discontinue the engine it's for, and making it obsolete. And to rub it in... I asked you think Honda, Toyota, Dodge or Ford owners have the same problem getting performance parts for their vehicle.
These are just a few topics in a 1 1/2 page email I sent them. So, I can't wait to get as reply from them.
I dont think ecotec will be discontinued for a while. i some how feel that maybe instead of trying to sell me supercharger GM would rather me trade in my sunfire and buy the cobalt /redline.Im thinking about it
No, I don't think it will either, but that is what they did with the other SC for 2.4L. Just stating GM's stupidity on how they deal with their aftermarket performance parts.
I don't have the option of trading in. I have to much in my cavalier to trade it away and start all over. Also, I already have my ecotec, transmision, and PCM. On top that the LSJ is going to be a lower performance ecotec than the one I am building now.
News from GM.
The performance kits for the LSJ should be out in the later portion of the 1st quarter of 2006.
