ok guys this is my first post and i am needing to know if the cobalt 2.0 ecotec s/c will fit on the 2.2 sunfire ecotec and if so what all will i need and has anyone done it yet a friend of mine wrecked his brand new cobalt ss and want to sell the s/c to me for $500 but before i do i want to make sure it will work
look up airtonics on the .org, he has done it i believe.
it will bolt on but the radiator suport gets in the way cause the super is about 2" to wide for the stock radiator suport.
12.7@110MPH with 10PSI.
ok thanks guys but what could i do with the support
thats completly up to you, but youll most likley have to cut it. but good luck with it and hope it works out for you.

If you decide not to go for it, i'd be interested in getting the whole engine (should it not be wrecked), or the supercharger from your friend!
Cheers, Paul.
Would there be a problem bolting it onto a 2.2L Cobalt?
Looks like i might have the same oppertunity to get one off a wrecked SS. wouldnt mind putting it on my LS but dont want to do any heavy fabrication.
Looks like the cobalt SS/SC drivers are having troubles driving.

If you haven't already, get hold of the gm build guide for the 2.2, they list all the procedures for installing their supercharger conversion (which is essentially very similar kit to the colbalt ss SC and intake). You may need a new belt, and to relocate the alternator / pully tensioner... The most important thing is the ECU, without updating the fueling its not gonna run...
Ta, Paul.
the supercharger in the performance book seems to have a different part number but they are both the eaton m62 i believe. have you maybe considered removing the entire intake system off your car and swapping to see if that would work? i am sure that there is a lot of success doing so, but you reach a point where maybe you would have been better off buying the LSJ engine instead.
I had the same question which I posed to Pace Performance. They said the engine swap won't work. Putting a 2.0L supercharged Cobalt engine in a Cavalier. The electronics are different and it's definitely not a "Plug and Play" swap. GM is coming out with a supercharger kit for the Ecotec engine, part number 1780003 and this part number along with the installation directions are in their Sport Compact Build Book.
