Does anyone have any feed back on the exploited racing turbo kits. They look sweet and was wondering if anyone had any comments whether about problems or how easy it was.

yeah.... i don't have one on my car, cuz mine is a custom fabrication. But i definately considered some of the options. They have stage 1-4 options. And to be honest, until you get to stage 4 which is a rediculous like 5600 bucks, you could have the setup i have which i got for just shy of 4 grand, and be runnin a higher psi and pushin more hp. Mine sits at around 8 or 9 psi and i am pushin about 235 to 240 hp now
and cavy's only weigh like 2600 pounds so they're fairly light... so 240 hp on a light car like a sunfire or cavy is damn quick. if you want a starter kit though i would definatly go with the stage 2 or 3 kit and gradually upgrade things once you get the money. there are a couple other companies that make turbo kits for the cavy & sunfire.. you might want to visit this site: www.cavalierconnection.com the kit seems comparible to the Exploited kit.
another option to consider is supercharging it... vortech makes a kit for about 4000 which will also have you sitting at 210-250 depending on how you tweak it

yeah but it's like 6000 ing dollars.... who would pay that much money.. you could get the stage 2 with upgraded blow off valve, and intercooler from jgstools, and get a 75 shot of NX or zex or @!#$... if you have 6 grand you could get the venom kit. You would be running around 8 psi and with boost, be sitting at OVER 300.
and by the way... after 12 psi you will start loosing hp. So 15 psi would be a waste.

I'm a newbie to boost, but why after 12 psi do you start to loose power????
yeah why would you loose power?? if the turbo was to small is gonna max out somewhere, but with a big enough turbo ur gonna keep making power to a certain extent. josh ran well over 12 psi in his car. <br>

Depending on the size of your turbo you would loose boost cause it can't spool fast enough or keep the pressure something along that line, my buddy with his talon had the same problem with his stock he over boosted and it did nothing cause it couldn't keep the boost up
thats why most modders with TwinTurboSupras often switch over to a single turbo
instead of pushing two small turbos
you get more power from one big turbo

then doesn't the question now become does the exploited racing stage four turbo have an adaquet turbo for 15psi of boost? becuase if it does, then wouldn't it not have the problem of loosing boost after a certain psi? <br>

ok after looking at the kit again an average size t3/t4 turbo shouldn't run out of it's compressor efficiency range until like 17 psi or so
but still unless you have hookups and a specific upgrade path in mind then for a less commonly modified car like a cavy it's probably easier and more cost effective in the long run to just make a custom kit using either the jgstools manifold or, if it's equal length the cavalier connection header with a t3 super 60 or t3/t4e .56-.64 A/R turbo with like an Izuzu NPR intercooler and @!#$
until Greddy comes out with kit ( Greddy makes the most modifiable kits on the market) i'd rather just stick with one of my own design where i have spent a few hundred bucks more and picked components that i trust and like rather than waste my money on some crackheads kit and by the way, Sequential Twin turbo systems ( previously said example being a Supra) are very complicated heavy and high maintenance not only that but there is a cornering disadvantage most of the time: if you are going around a corner and suddenly the second turbo comes into play you instantly have an extra sixty horses to deal with it's like cornering and hitting a 75 shot of nos
Some people like to just by "bolt on" kits, custom setups are cool but without the right knowledge and time invested you can F up a car real freackin fast. Anyways whats some details on your kit Tyler donley, I'm thinking of having a local guy build me setup and need some details on what works on eco's. thanks , James <br>
Scorpio... it all depends on your desires, and how much $$ you're going to be able to lay down. I mean, with the correct turbine, and exhaust housing, and as long as you keep within the perimeters of your motor... being the stock ecotec... not some V8 swap, you should be able to have amazing boost in the middle of the ecotec powerband (3700-5850 rpm) even with the stage 1 kit from exploited racing...keep in mind there would need to be some cooling measures taken. Same is true if you're going the custom turbo route... you need to take the same steps such as the turbine and exhaust manifold, and housings, but also make sure all of you're piping is correct. Obviously with a kit, the housings are already tested and ready to bolt-on, so just make sure that whomever is building this kit has made all of the right measurements and bends in the correct places in the pipes from the turbo manifold-- back, and in the intercooler piping. Chances are, you're cavy will kick some stock wrx @!#$ if you got it setup right HAHA hope this helped. lol... you're new boosted eco (245hp) vs. wrx (227hp)

Except the WRX has AWD, so while he's spinning tires and wrenching with torque steer the WRX will rip him out of the hole.

you loose power because of detoation on the 2.2L eco's cause of the compression thats why the drag cars are 2.0L running i think some where around 25 to 30 psi
Dustin, I don't really think you got it down just yet.
Detonation is something you run into when say you run high boost.
This preignition is avoided by running higher octane gas because it is harder to ignite.
Also the displacement of the engine has very little to do with compression. And the reason the destroke the engine is to give them higher rpm capabilities. 25 to 35 psi of boost is pretty conservative. most run upwards of 40 psi.

here is a question do you think that the 2.3L turbo dohc HO will swap in to my car from the saab so far i think it does but i also know very little about the saab 2.3L <br>

There are no "stages" in Haas' kits. Stages mean nothing but more money for less parts.
