Hey everbody,
I was just wondering if you heard a sound difference if you installed and aftermarket header with your stock exhaust or if you installed a cai with your stock exhaust?
thanks
who cares how your intake sounds
Well, sound is important, more important to some then others. I personally spend my money on performance. A concern for sound is fine, just as long as it doesn't impact performance. What I think is dumb is people with turbos who use a blow off valve instead of a diverter valve because they sound cool.
I don't know about a header, but a CAI does add a nice tone thats rather modest and not to ricey.

I found the Cai made a little rumble to the exhaust, nothing major though, liek not noticing if you werent listening for it, but your engine sounds alot nicer when you accelerate, theres a distinct sucking noise

Welcome to the ecotec/jbody forum. If I were you, I'd get the cai first. After that, get the exhaust and header upgraded. You'll sound good if you have 2.25" exhaust piping opposed to 2.5" AND get better overall performance. You don't really need 2.5" exhaust unless you're going to boost at low psi or spray.
Peace man,

Thanks for the advice Sasuke. I think i am going to get the cai pretty soon when i get the money for it.
Well lets see if you like fun sounds buy a turbo you'll gain 3 new sounds that will uh be.....kinda loud/annoying/sweet/fun. First you have the sound of the turbo which is always a good thing and the wastegate if vented to the atmosphere is annoying and the bov can be sweet depending on the bov and it gives your exhuast a change but overall you'll find the results of a turbo kit much nicer than a warm air intake or something like it.
