Hey guys, in trying to wire in an AF guage last nite, I ran into some wiring issues with my o2 sensor. There are 4 wires running off the sensor to a harness, and the harness joins another four set of wires, kinda like this: ( "/" symbolizes the harness)
to pcm to o2
purple - - - - - - / - - - - - Black
? - - - - - - / - - - - - Grey
? - - - - - - / - - - - - White
? - - - - - - / - - - - - White
Anyhow, the wiring that came off the o2 was 3 different colours. Two wires were white, one was grey, and one black. I was told that a purple wire was the one that I was gonna have to tap by a fellow jbody guy, and the black wire that led from the o2 correlated to a purple wire on the other side of the harness. Im just wondering if this was the appropriate wire to tap, and if not, which one was?
Yup... The Grey is the reference voltage for the sensor and the two white wires are for the heater element, and black is the signal itself.
