Hi! I have a Diesel ecotec engine from an Opel Vectra 1998. Yup, a diesel. Here in the US. Since there are no Opel Vectras handy, I am trying to figure out what cars might be reasonable to put this into. It seems the Saturn L series is one possibility, but I have been told that any Ecotec vehicle might work. Is there a master list of vehicles that have the Ecotec? Also can any year be swapped for another or should I stick to looking at 98s?

I have also been told that the gearing is different for a diesel. Not sure what to do about that yet.

Any tips, helps, advice, etc. welcome.

well, here's some that i know of, assuming you are looking for 4cyl applications.
cavalier, cobalt, grand am, g5, hhr, saturn L-series....that's all i can think of right now. hope it helps : )
