My name is Bob and I have had this idea in my head for quite some time. I don't know much about the EcoTec motors as I am from the traditional and new LS small block school of thought, so I am here for research and help. On to the plan..... drop a turbo Eco motor from a Soltice GXP or Saturn Sky Red Line (along with a manual tranny) into a 1963 Chevy II. My thought is have a fuel injected motor for reliability and the manual for fun! It would be different from the normal small block swap you see. I think it might be lighter in weight than a small block (part of my research!) for better weight distribution, and some good street power (400 HP?!) as this will just be a cruiser.
Main things on my research list....
-Can any Eco by mounted longitudinally?
-What kind of reliable power can be made?
-What trannys are available?
-Budget $$$ wise.... my uncle has the car in mind, and it is available to me.
Any initial reactions, answers, support, and links are very welcomed!
Thanks for your time!!!!!
