I have an 02 sunfire gt with the 2.2l ecotec. It has about 92K on it and I just got done changing the timing chain, water pump, and counterbalance chain. Prior to finding out the timing chain was broke, I checked for fuel and spark. Now that I am doing installing these items, the car still won't start. The two times I tried starting it, it sounded like it wanted to fire on one cylinder but wouldn't actually start. When I replaced the chains I made sure to line up all markings. Any idea as to what else may need to be replaced???
I have this same problem. Did you try to do a compression test to see if you have bent a valve when the chain broke?
