So i was wondering if anyone has tried putting a cobalt SS rear on a cavi? It looks like it would bolt right up and you would get the disc brakes and the bigger wheel base......
They are completely different platformed vehicles so it wouldn't work like putting a sunfire rear end on an cavalier...so no, it wouldn't bolt right up.

I'm with Andrew. We all know that because GM made both cars and they semi share the same engine/tranny, but not really, but close. No. GM decided to discontinue the J body platform because it was getting old and had no resale value. But my step bro up in NJ (NJHK's brother in law) said GM is still using the J body. They're calling it a Delta body now for insurance purposes.
The guy that came up with "Jbody" (his name was J actually) is/was trying to sue GM for using it since the early '60s. So, GM changed platform names.
It is possible though man, you need to take the Delta rear off and place it directly over the J rear. It'll fit. Then you weld it on, the brake lights line up perfectly so when the stock lights turn on...the Delta lights are illuminated.
I'm working on this now, I had to buy a whole Delta body to do it, but I will have a Delta rear on my J.
