Lowering Springs

I just bought some eibach pro-kit lowering springs off of cardomain.com. I was told that I'm going to need new struts. This is what the person said: hope you got aftermarket struts(KYB AGX or koni yellows) to handle the drop. Otherwise your going to eventually be riding around on blown struts. Is this true or could I just install them on the stock struts?

You can install them on the stock struts but you will blow them within a short amount of time and trust me you wont like the ride quality. Its best just to get the proper struts.

Any suggestions on a brand? I was looking at some from DC Sports on car domain and JC Whitney.

DO NOT BUY DROP-ZONE! They are the worst company to deal with, and their product is junk!

I bought my DROP-ZONE springs from them, and thought, for best results, I should buy the struts as well. Well I purchased them in October, and they were blown out by January. I live on a paved road, and I never drive on dirt roads. So I thought they may have been defective. I called them up, and they gave me a big "runaround" with it. Eventually, I finally They found all my information to correctly process a return.....IF they were defective. So, I would have to send the struts to them for analysis, and if they were defective, then they would warrant an exchange. I had already told them, that I drive my car everyday, and it would be impossible to curb my car for weeks. They pretty much said "tuff @!#$".

Needless to say, I have had my Tokico's since then, and have no problems handling the drop. In fact, these perform outstanding.

What about these <a href="http://img147.imageshack.us/my.php?image=8e1b1sl.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/6282/8e1b1sl.th.jpg" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us" /></a> KYB AGX struts? Would those work with the eibach pro-kit springs?

I have been on my sprolines(lower then pro kits) for about a year and a half now still on stock struts, my car is getting a little bouncy but nothing to bad and still handles awesome but you will want to eventually get new struts which I WILL do soon

Prolines on stock struts hard to believe. I think you have gotten use to the bad ride quality. I did. I am now looking forward to good ride and handling. I have eibach sway bar set front and rear. Still thinking of struts to get and prolines.

2004 ecotec 5 speed. Injen intake, better plugs and wires. Just lowered it and added a wing.
