anyone know of a place in the tampa, fl area to install an SAFC2? also will a tach adapter be needed? 2004 pontiac sunfire
A tach adapter is necessary can't help you with a location though
Install it yourself..it is very easy. Take your time, read the posts on JBO, and print out the Eco pin outs from the J-bodies of N.Y. website. I think I had more trouble hooking up my reverse glow gauges than I did my SAFCII.
Also, unless you have an aftermarket tach, you don't need an adapter. Simply set the cylinders to 2 and the arrow pointing in the NE direction(cardinal directions) and you will get a full RPM readout.
Ok i just installed mine but im not sure what sensor number to use right now its on 5in and 5 out but i know this shows +13kpa in the manifold but i havent had time to play with it just curious if anyone knows the numbers for the ecotec. thanks

5 in, 5 out is correct. Set the cylinders to "2" and the arrow to the upper right hand direction.
Anyone Have a Link to the pinouts? Theyre On JBO sounds Like?
I bought a tach with 4-6-8 cyl. option.Do i need a tach adapter ?

Also, FYI: Don't listen to the resistor trick BS if someone tries to tell you to do it. An SAFC is pretty much an electronical resistor that you can control. Putting a resistor on would just alter the SAFC settings (+5 before might be +10 for example). Yeah, it MIGHT work but it just f**ks with the SAFC setting.
In my opinion, it's not worth doing all this to get rid of a Code that is there for 10 seconds after you start driving.
