i want to throw the entire high output turbo setup from the saab 9-3 onto my 2.2l ecotec
my goal is to actually make my engine identical to the saab one.
could someone possibly give me some part numbers to the following:
-intake manifold
-exhaust manifold
-turbocharger
-oil pan
for the rest of the setup, including internals, i am thinking of just going to the aftermarket
if you have any suggestions, i am always open to hear them.
Don't know much about the SAAB, but the new sales lady (salesperson, I made the mistake of referring to her in the former) has a 9-3. I'll see if she'll let me take a peek under her hood again...and that wasn't an off color comment.
You may want to step up on some parts a bit though; as I recall, there was alot of plastic under there....even more than my 04 ION.
If I can find the part numbers with handy-dandy extendo-mirror, I'll post them.
I was going to do the same thing a long time ago but I decided not to because the turbo they use is just too small in my opinion (Mitsubishi TD04). It offers quick spool time but not the type of high end power that I would want. Basically, just not efficent enough for my motor.
Why would you want the oil pan?

Good idea. If you're going to do internals, get something top knotch rather than another set of stock pistons and rods.

the turbo is perfect for a fun daily driver.
I have the saab setup on my car and ran a 13.8 @ 99 with 6psi using the mitsu TD04
I have tried 5 different turbos on my car. It is not too small. Other turbos are TOO BIG. Unless all you want is a drag car, dont buy a big turbo as it will not be fun to drive on the street.
The garrett super 60 actually was good also, with a slower spool than the TD04 but would be a little more efficient for higher boost (10psi+)
I actually am building and selling saab setups for those who are interested.
At first I was just making my own setup, but then a handfull of people wanted me to duplicate it for them, so I did.
