May I introduce this site to saturnfans.com?
Just curious...
if you tell the saturnfans.com people about this site, tell them to get new brains first, I've looked at their site and they seem to generally not know much of anything...but I don't know that it would make things much different here than normal...
remembered reading a post about someone test driving a cavalier and how horrible it was...and that it's only redeeming factor was IRS....or something to that effect.
after searching for some info more on posts there, I rather decided I wasn't going to bother go back there again
What you just described is the entire point of GME: to educate all GM enthusiasts across brands and platforms.
invite them over, the more people we get the better this will be. <br>

I am new here, and from not only saturnfans, but pretty much all saturn related web forums as well. LOL
I've come to this site once in awhile, just for some brisk reading, but I don't own an ecotec YET. I will be buying an '04 saturn ION sedan soon.

Val- if you already bought that Ion don't read on any further. Otherwise, if still interested in the Ion, be sure to check out my post in "which car to get?" I understand you are a current Saturn fan, but the new Ions are different. Especially the engine needs to be carefully considered. For power check into the Dodge Neon SRT. Or for refinement on a budget check out the Mazda 3, Honda Civic, or Suzuki Forenza.
Russell, I just picked up my ION 3 a couple weeks ago. I have driven the ION many times and am very happy to have finally taken the plunge and purchase one. I love the car. I did consider the Mazda 3, the sentra and the focus in my new car searches, but I still found the ION to be the best practical car for me. The Mazda 3 costed too much for the options I wanted with it, the sentra was too boring, and the focus that was in my budget sucked. I needed a 4 door and so the new j-bodies were out of the question. Not that I have anything against the cars, but to me they look like they got worse. I dislike the latest style in stock form, and knowing that I'm not modifying the new car, I decided that they weren't for me.
The ION is quick enough, and although it weighs more than the j twins, it still has the ecotec which is an excellent motor, and thats what I am really after. If I have money to p[lay with down the road, I might get an RSM racing supercharger for the ION, but I'm not even considering that as of right now. It's staying stock in terms of performance. I might add a strut bar, upgrade the lighting and a few other small things like the short throw idea but that's about it.
