anyone get a cobalt or an ion with one of these engines yet?
what do you think?
bought 06 cobalt ss 2.4L, hell of a car!
-best sound system i ever had(pioneer 10 speaker,amplified,10-inch sub,228watts)
-feels like its on rails with the 17s wrapped by perrellis
-amazing acceleration (delivering 90% of power at 2400rpm), no lag as in previous sunfires, cavs
-firm brakes
-looks hot with dark black tint
*dont take threw any carwashes that pull you through by rail,
will scratch the rims
ran a 9.66 w/intake,exhaust,and ecu tune. Car feels great and pulls all the way up to the 7000 rpm redline
. Dynoed 160 hp 150 tq on mustang dyno. Heading to the track w/ short shifter, and 105 octane gas in a few days goal is a 9.4.

A 9.66, I don't think that is correct. Well atleast not in a quater mile.

Just so you dont waste the cash, anything over 90 octane wont help you very much unless your rather boosted or running high compression. I run 89 octane in my G6 and it runs great (89 is blend where I live)
Higher Octane allows for more power through tuning, your timing etc. can squeak more ponies out of 105 than 90 so save your money based on your tuning methods is more accurate.
I have the Ion 3 version of this Cobalt and to say the same as everyone else, it pulls hard throughout the powerband, I am really pleased by the responce in the throttle and handling! It is a great car
