I encountered a streetracer that modified his ION redline with some type of engine control computer and had the ability to run the engine in various modes of performance. On one end of the scale was raw power, and at the other end was lower HP and like 90+ miles per gallon. he claimed it was possible because the ecotec engine he had in his Ion was built like a racing engine and it was even girdled. I am seeking comparison info to find out if the 2.2 engine used in the Vue is built the same way. If anyone knows where I can find a comparison chart or article on these 2 engines please reply.

I've never heard of anything like that for the ION. Maybe for a diesel truck, yeah, they're everywhere.
