how is every body getting in th mid to hight 15 in a stock cavalier and i have only been able to achieve mid to a high 16 wtf its ans ls sport with 39000 miles on it my other cavalier did 15.9 stock first time around then with a short shifter and limited slip 15.578 what am i doing wrong?????!!!!!!!!!!

I leave the light at 4000rpm, and shift at 6000rpm the rest of the track. I run 30 pounds in the front tires.
60ft was 2.25, the 1/8 was 9.85 @ 71.53, and the 1/4 at 15.30 @ 89.79 mph
i also ran with my 17 in rims with 25 pounds of air

I leave at 1500 rpm that boost comes up spins 1st, 2nd , and 1st part of 3rd. With 9 psi on 17 falken drag radials(junk) and still pull out 13.4 @ 111 mph. Factory I could lauch at about 3200 with 28psi in tires and spin lowerer half of first but It would still pull good while spinning and I would get a 15.4 @ 90 mph.
15.1 with minor bolt ons. launch at 4k spin through 1st gear shifting at 6500, 2nd shift at 6500 3rd rev it out to 7000 and im done 1/4mile. been running consistent 15.1s, also with consistent 2.2 60ft times. these runs have been on going bald all season tires.

is any of these numbers from a stock 2.2 ecotec i need to know wat a stock ecotec runs.
best i got out of my cavi is a 15.9 with a 2.4 60 ft. with 25 psi in tires and its a stock 3.1 in a 1990 z24 cavi.

the only trick is getting the car off the line

i just ran my bone stock 05 cobalt last nite... i have nothing done to it at all n i didnt even take out the spare (did remove air filter) n i had my 105lb g/f in the car with me lol n i ran a 15.701 @ 89.89
i only did one run and it was against another cobalt that had a full magnaflow exhaust and a injen intake.

this was on a full tank of gas, wheelspin through all of first and part of second, a @!#$ty track and launching at around 2300rpm and 90 degree weather. i could easily be 13.7 or 13.8 on a cold night with less than a 1/4 tank of gas. the tire pressure was also normal street use, didnt bother letting out any pressure

How you ask..................because it's bench racing, BS or 6ull@!#$. I have yet to see a stock 2.2 ecotec anything with any trans run a 16 flat. Hell I've yet to see one run 16.7 at FIREBIRD and I keep an eye on them because I've run my 20.L, 2.2L, and 2.4L. I mean I've only been to the track SIX times this year and at least 15 times a year for the last 7 years. I guess all those runs are made when I'm not at the track.

thats weird cuz i've done 15.7 stock ecotec. i have an exhaust and intake(on stock box) now and i couldn't tell you how much quicker it is but i can feel it (alot) i've had ppl drive my car that had 4cy engines and say that it shouldnt have that much power while stock.

second ion only 10 psi and small red line injectors runs 13.03 @ 118 every time with stock 5 speed auto no spray and only gt-28 turbo. in cecil county drag way maryland
I ran my 2002 cavalier z24 with the 2.2 L ecotec, with aftermarket muffler and k&n air filter at toronto motorsports park and ran a 16.7 1/4 mile time, with a 4 speed automatic transmision. I didnt think this was a bad time considering the car is almost stock.
first saturn ion running compound induction, ran 9.98 @ 142 with stock blower pulley and gt-35 set at only 8psi car sees 14-17psi depending on load and gear.also maryland cecil county drag way. and that was with not CO2 and no NO2. next will have full CO2 chill set up and 30-40hp dry shot till 11 psi deactivation of NO2 and this car still run on pump 93 octane!!
When my cav was stock i ran 15.4-15.5 all day
12.506 @ 121MPH....There is more in it if i can just get my launch figured out.
