Has anyone here experienced the woobly gas pedal. It shakes from side to side.
And does anyone know how to tighten it up. It is the most annoying thing.
I've looked in the helms manual and there is nothing about it.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks guys.
No wobble on mine. I'd take a peek in there. The accelerator pedal connects directly to a 'black box' known as the "accelerator pedal position sensor" since the Ecotecs are throttle by wire. Any undo movement would be a bad thing that could leave you stranded with no more than fast idle and a "reduced engine power" message.

lol...thats so weird mine does that to...really agrevating.....
Yeah, mine wobbles too. Once I figure out how to tighten in, I'll let ya'll know!
Well, no luck on finding anyway to stop the woobly pedal. I'll keep looking.
I'll keep an eye on this topic. Mine is doing it too.
Yeah I know it's an old post, but mine is doing it as well. No idea why, just like the rest of you, but I've also never heard of anyone having car trouble due to a bad case of "the wobbly pedal". But according to ya'll it's a fast growing epidemic. LOL just kiddin, but I'm not too worried bout it. Guess I'll just deal with it too.

My 2003 cavilier is doing this as well. I wonder if this could be a recall
i've got an 04 that does it as well! i wondered about that too when i first got it. i've tried to find a way to tighten it up. so far nothing
Wow! Over a year later and still no fix for the "wobbly" gas pedal. Well, mine still wobbles. I've obviously gotten used to it after 5 and a half years.
Every now and then I notice it and it drives me crazy. I've been telling myself i'm going to call the dealership and some auto shops to get a quote
on having it fixed or if it's even fixable. Maybe i'll actually do that this week. I'll let you guys know if I get any answers.
they do that who cares, when you push on the accelerator do u move it side to side or up n down???? up and down exactly
I found a fix for this use a nut and bolt
Yeah you push it up and down, but when you are turning a corner and go to press on the gas pedal and it sort of slides to the left or right under your foot
it kind of pisses you off.
The nut and bolt idea is a good one.
It is a completly normal phenomonon for your pedal to wobble. mine has done it from day 1 since I bought it brand new and all other cavalier I have seen do it to.
