So I recently bought a 2002 cavalier with the 2.2 in it and when I got it the check engine light was on. The guy said its been on over a year but the car runs fine so he never bothered to get it checked. Today I borrowed my friends reader and hooked it up and the code said "evaporative system leak." Any suggestions where to start looking to fix it? Thanks in advance
It is almost impossible to diagnose it yourself and the garage/dealer is going to rape you to fix it. It doesnt affect the reliability/driveablitly/performance of the car, it's emissions(a useless system).
My old cav and my current one both had that CEL and i just let it go.
alright cool thanks for your help
