I have a 2003 2.2l ecotech with automatic transmission and I was wondering if Supercharging it or Turbocharging would be better? Any suggestions would be great.
supercharge there is alot of custom work to be done for a turbo charged auto, but its all based on what u want to spend.

This system is for a manual transmission. The only thing you need to do is route the chargepipes a different way and make a downpipe.
It's getting hard to find S/C's kits for our cars now. Like Patrick said, its all based on what you want to spend.
A turbo has better results in the long run, but is higher maintanence. I S/C'ed my cavalier, but wish I had gone the other route.
I just really want to SMOKE a Mustang GT with a four banger
either way will work and get you to your goal.
The M62(supercharger) makes for a very fun DD and requires less downtime than a turbo system. But you are limited to 280-290whp(the M62 cant make much over 300whp reliably), which is a good thing because stock 2.2L Ecotecs break rods/wrist pins near 290-300bhp.
Turbocharging usually ends up with more downtime and a few more headaches(J-bodies cannot read boost). But depending on the turbo you can make 500, 600, 700whp. Granted the engine is fully built to support it.

Super is better its power on the fly... Turbos you wait for spool up while supers pass you up...

turbo may take time to spool up but they get the supers everytime
If you research and pick the right turbo set up the lag is almost eliminated, but you wont hit any big numbers.

That is a very ignorant statement.

didnt mean for it to sound ignorant, im sorry if i offended you i just believe in it that way.
Im not offended. It is the fact that supercharged vehicles have beaten turbocharged vehicles before that makes that statement false. Look at the high powered drag cars or even the TVS swapped LSJs.
Proof: TVS swapped 2.2L cavalier v.s. a 02-03(bugeye) STI.

ok so if u supercharge can u bolt it on to the stock 2.2 intake manifold?
Does it look like it bolts to the 2.2L intake manifold?
the supercharger kit for the ecotec is universal for autos or manuals all it comes down too is the programming but if your doing a dino tune then all you need is a base map for your fuel injector size i would suggest the super because with the auto youll never hit the rpms to make the power you want
