I'm putting a 2.2l ecotec into my 79 chevette. I'll be using weber side draft carbs and an intake manifold from quad4rods.com. It will be bolted to either a solstice transmission or a T5.
I would love to have 200hp all motor and maybe a bottle just in case.
What do I need to build this or is it even possible?
thanks for your help

Nice! That's an old car you throw a newer 4cyl in!!
the best way is to get an ecotec/ ECU combo that supports tuning and doesn't require a BCM to start, the 03 and up ecotecs from the D body cars require you have a matching BCM for the starting circuit, which possibly leaves non D body 02-04s. then you upgrade the rods, pistons, head, intake manifold, exhaust and big bore TB, then tune it to get the most if it all, I got around 160 BHP with a K&N filter, muffler, synthetic oil and a tune in my 07. Why are you going to put a carburetor on an electronically controlled only fuel injected engine? you still need an ECU to run these engines, the newer the engine you get, the more sensors there are and the more it is integrated into the rest of the car.
