does anyone here use an electric supercharger? Whats up with them? Do they work?
are you kidding...
I thought this section of the GME would be more elite, but apparently not
there are very few good ones, most are just fans put over the intake that end up restricting rather than producing air flow. also usually the good ones are expensive, need extra batteries, and dont put out a great deal of boost. for the same money, you could probably find a nice turbo or supercharger (non electric) that will give you a hell of a lot better gains and efficiency.
unless you have some reason for going to electrical supercharger, rather tahn mechanical, i would just save yourself the aggrivation and buy the gm supercharger or a nice turbo. the ones offered on ebay for less than $100 arent worth it. they are a scam.
if you need a reflash on your PCM, then chances are its a good supercharger. good luck, keep us posted with what you decide to do.
i had no intention of getting one. I was just wondering what they did
Those electric superchargers are an extremely high spinning fan that sits inline with your intake.
While off they restrict airflow, but when they get spinning the fan blades rotate at ~20000 rpm.
Thats all well and good, but i doubt the fan blades can hold up to that kind of punishment at that speed. And when the fan blades decide to let go, the only place they have to go is into your engine....
As most people would know, small bits of plastic + intake valves/cylinder heads = broken motor.
Freakin morons.... When will they learn. Hold On Not Done Accelerating
