i have an 04 Caviler, and when u turn on the car and take the e-brake off the headlights turn on, i dont know what thats called so bare with me.
but i think its annoying and id like to know how to disable it so they wont turn on.

they are called 'daytime running lights' (DRL's), and there are a few guides online for disabling them. check on the jbo forums. i believe with yours there is a wire on the bcm harness that you have to cut and ground..
I know on th 02's you cut the dark blue wire of the center harness out of the BCM around the kick pannel on the driver side and you ground the wire out of the BCM. This fulls the BCM to think that the lights are on. If you ground it well there are NO side FX what so ever. If the DRL light blinks then clicks on check eng then it is not grounded goo enough. I hate those retarded DRL. I wouldn't mind them if they were wired into the parking lights like the Vetts.

just pull the relay and stick a picture of your girlfreind or something to cover the service light

The way I said to do it is the only way w/o any side fx. It really is not hard to do. You'll kick your self for not doing it sooner.

anyone know a way to hook up a switch to them?-maybe to the relay or something-i like them sometimes and other times i'd rather not have them-not too good pullin up to the warehouses to watch the streetracing and tryin to not draw attention to us....

Chris Allen you are correct. Simply turn your brights on and off rapidly, this will signal the ECU to kill the Day time runners, and will give you a "service" light on your dash until you turn of the car. When you turn your car back on again everything is back to normal.
You could run a switch...
off the blue wire that you would run to ground...
Splice a switch in to the blue wire that would be cut and then run to a ground.
Except leave it connected to the BCM, but run a 3rd wire, off the switch, to the ground. Then you could switch it from running to BCM then switch to the ground.
Theorectically that should work.
but if u leave the wire still hooked up normally and just splice it...when u cut the switch on and it grounds the wire-will there be any problems w/where ever the wire is going in the first place???? because i had thought about this before-i really want to be able to control this thing

If i understand right. You are asking... If the you switch it over from normal operation to the ground operation... will there be a problem?
It shouldn't becuase a switch only allows power to flow through which ever side the switch is on.
So, if you switch it over to the ground side. There wouldn't be any power going to the normal running side of the switch. Which would be just like cutting the wire and grounding it. And vice versa.
As for any resistance in the wire. I'm not sure if the switch would cause some funky happenings to the resistance, causing the bcm to send a code.
BTW. I don't mean an on/off switch. I'm talking about a 2 way switch, or what ever name it goes by.
Basically, a switch that power goes in to one side and has to outlets that can be switched back and forth between.
