About to changed out my timing chain in my sunfire 2.2 ecotec. what do i need to get to perform this job? Obviously i need a timing chain and water pump but what else needs to be changed
I would advise spending the $$$ for the GM manual if you are going be working on your car yourself and doing work as involved as changing the timing chain. I bought one for my 1993 Chevy truck after the Haynes and Chilton manuals left me high and dry too many times. I think they are around $75, but money well spent. I have a 2006 Cobalt SS 2.4l with only 15k miles, so I have not bit the bullet yet, but will the first time a major repair comes up.
Y do u need a new water pump on a timing chain job?
