so whats the deal with the 2.2 in the alero?/ will any supercharger kit fit it?? or for that matter any thing from the cobalt?? i really want to put the supercharger on it. are all the ecotecs the same. so what fits the cav and sunfire should fit the alero right??
The Aleros never had a 2.2, it's not even an ECOTEC engine.

Sorry yes, the Alero had the 2.2 ECOTEC. The Supercharger kit will fit on the engine, the only problem you'll face is a tuning solution. The reflash that is provided for the 2.2 Kit for the J-bodies will not work with your PCM.
Sorry about the whole Alero and Aveo thing...I was talking to my friend with an Aveo all night about doing a motor swap.

It's the same supercharger. It's an Eaton M62 Roots Type Supercharger.
The only difference between you picking up an used 2.0 (LSJ) S/C and an 2.2 (L61) Supercharger kit is that the 2.0s come stock with an 3.3" pulley and the 2.2 kit comes with an 3.5" pulley.
What were your plans on tuning solutions?

Dealer won't have anything.
Check out HP Tuners, they support your computer (www.hptuners.com)
As far as the difference between your PCM and the Jbodies PCM, I don't know honestly.
