I have a 2006 Ion 2 sedan that I'm wanting to "spice" up a little bit. Not looking to turn it into a 9sec 1/4 horse or anything just something to give it some more pep and make it more fun to drive. Was thinking about getting a catback exhaust, however, was informed by an outside source that our mufflers have a pretty good flow and an aftermarket exhaust will only decrease low end torque (something I'm not wanting to do). Is this true or will I get some good benefits of having an exhaust system. Now I know having a four cylinder it'll be loud, but don't want it super loud to where when everytime my foot is on the gas pedal others are holding onto their ears. I'm also wanting to get the Billet fuel rail from SMS mainly just for looks, but does that give me any power too or no?

an exhaust will benefit the car but I would look at things carefully I would probably go with a one off 2 1/4 inch exhaust with a magniflow resonator and a super turbo type muffler it will flow and still be quiet. an intake will also improve things a bit. with both on the car you COULD see up to 10 hp and a nice bump in torque
